Alberta Marana (218) 624-0468 Julance@yahoo.com I'm a visual artist working in pastels and recently also oils. As far as current projects, I'll be in a group show at the Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee this spring and one of my works was selected for the cover of Carol Bly's book, Half Shelter. I find solace from the chaos of the world in nature. I am attracted by the vibrant colors of the wild flowers and grasses in the summer, the “in your face” colors of red and gold in autumn and the wonderfully moody blues of the evening. All of these landscapes bring me joy and a sense of wonder. I can forget myself and the problems of the world and just marvel at what nature displays for me.

Ruth Henriquez Lyon palomatextiles@gmail.com http://www.palomatextiles.com Fibers: dyeing, painting, weaving, plus mixed media collage and contemporary stitching. I'm currently working on learning tapestry weaving, with an emphasis on free-form design improvised on the loom. I'm also working on a series of fabric collages that explore the relationship between exterior landscapes and interior spaces of the psyche. They are inspired by both the pre-Christian stone monuments of the British Isles and cross-cultural symbols that show up in dreams and poetry. I also have an internet business, where I sell environmentally- and animal-friendly yarns for weavers and other fiber artists. I am also building pages on that site with information about the creative process, as well as reviews on books about the arts and the creative process.
Ryan Tischer 315 N. Lake Ave Studio # 322 DuluthMN 55806218-391-1827 ryantischerphoto@msn.com http://www.ryantischerphoto.com I am a nature and landscape photographer. As I continue to pursue new subjects, I am ceaselessly inspired by the incredible energy found everywhere within nature. Photography is a wonderful and surprising medium to work in because you can never predict exactly how a picture will turn out. Much of nature’s energy is invisible to the human eye, however, through a photographic image, motion, light, color and texture can become evident in ways we never before noticed. Sometimes the result is magical. My greatest reward is capturing this natural magic and sharing it with the world.
